Morné Steyn

Morné Steyn is an actor, performer, singer and voice artist. He has performed in various professional theatre productions and related mediums. Some of these include “Cleansed”, “4.48 Psychosis” and “Der Schauspieldirektor”.

Over and above performance art, Morné is a Certified Trainer of Lessac Kinesensic Voice and Body Training®, USA.

Morné also holds a MA (Drama) degree in gender and performance voice studies. He is interested in, and currently explores the intersectional dynamics of voice and body politics in performance context(s). Currently, his pedagogic and research focus explores re-contextualizing the impact of power structures/relationships embedded in gender, race and class as well as abled-ness within the performance training environment.

He is a lecturer at UCT’s Centre for Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies. He teaches performance voice, acting studies and creative movement. Where possible, he teaches various workshops related to performance and transformation.

Dawid grows up into a man of strong character, quietly helping around the home while Tollie stirs things up. But he longs for more and makes the difficult decision to leave the family to work with horses in the Cape.
