Mateo Olivier

Mateo Olivier’s fledgling career in the film industry began in 2018. His passion for the arts and drama was fuelled at Paul Greyling Primary School in Fish Hoek, where where he was a learner from 2014 to 2018. He found an outlet for his emotions and creativity through playing the lead roles in many school productions, and by participating in speech choirs and eistedfodds. He consistently achieved distinctions in Drama, regularly obtaining an 80% aggregate. Mateo is 14 years old and lives with his parents in Rondebosch East, Cape Town. He grew up in a small town outside of Cape Town, called Wellington. Mateo started his secondary schooling at Labori High School in Paarl this year.

It’s been a significant challenge for Mateo to remain diligent with his studies, as well as being a full-time actor, but he says “it’s been a blessing and definitely worth it”. Mateo is enjoying every moment behind the screens and seems like he wants to pursue being an actor full time.
